Update: Until further notice, I recommend that you should not drag images into your blog posts.
You can drag photos into your blog, from your desktop or the web.
This feature is not new, but for a long time (some say a very long time) it was buggy and produced blog posts that screwed up the way blogs and feeds worked.
Blogger seems to have licked those problems. If so, drag and drop is a very attractive alternative to using the upload and from a url options in Add Images.
Add Images offers six image-insertions options.
It is invoked by clicking the Insert Image tool on the toolbar in Blogger's editing window.
Dragging from a web page is the equivalent of Add Images > from a URL. It does not create a copy in your album archive.
Dragging won't work from within most desktop applications. For instance, you can't drag a photo into your blog from Apple's Photos app.
Instead you can export the image to a folder or your desktop. You can drag it into your blog from there.
You still need to format the image (size, alignment, caption, etc.) once it is in your blog.
I stayed away from dragging because it had technical problems, but I'm going to try using it more from now on.
Drag, drop, wait, format, and done! |

Know your options
Dragging from a directory in your computer produces the same result as Add Images > Upload. It inserts the image into your blog and copies the image file to your blog's album archive.Dragging from a web page is the equivalent of Add Images > from a URL. A better way?
Dragging is quick, intuitive, and bypasses modal mouse actions required to insert via Add Images.I stayed away from dragging because it had technical problems, but I'm going to try using it more from now on.
