How to Blogger: tutorials and key topics

From getting started to keeping going, I have some multi-post tutorials about Blogger.

I created many of these with new bloggers in mind.

Setting up

Welcome to Blogger is an introduction that includes links to topics newcomers need to know during and immediately after the setup process.

For example, New blog—and account describes the multi-step process of setting up a blog connected to the account you want to use. It addresses blog name and web address, and privacy concerns people sometimes have.

Set the table for blogging explains the blog settings you might want to tweak after you complete setup.

These pages link to information to help you choose a blog theme and to important Google help pages.

Digging in

What kind of blogger will you be? describes five basic kinds of blogs. (Most blogs combine these).

Blog elements details the different parts of a Blogger blog, like sidebar widgets and static pages. Learn how they work and what you can do with them.

Images are an important part of blogging, and Adding images to Blogger walks through the four options for inserting them.

Going deeper

There are three ways that people can follow your blog. They all use your blog's feed.

You can use your feed to make dynamic lists of blog posts by topic. As your blog grows, lists like this can help your readers find content that interests them.

Did you know a blog is a database that can be manipulated and filtered in useful ways?

You can similarly tailor feeds by topic, phrase, or keyword.

Reaching out

Not really a tutorial, just thoughts on how to engage with other people online and connect with more readers.

If you need help with Blogger, the place to go is the Blogger help community, run by Google but staffed by volunteers, bloggers like you.

It's a great resource!
