Adding "from your phone"
(really, Google Photos)

toolbar > insert image > Add Images > From your phone

Update: The user interface has changed, so my screen shots and step-by-steps are no longer 100% valid. This option is now simply called "Photos."

Want to put a photo into your blog?

Someone at Google thought "from your phone" would be easier to understand than "from Google Photos."

The top portion of "from your phone" showing a row of images

I can see the point of that, though I am as likely to interact with Google Photos from my desktop as from my phone.

In any case, this option gives you direct access to all the photos in Photos, for the blogging account you are using.

That's an important distinction if you have more than one Google account (I have three). You won't see photos that you took or uploaded using another account, even if you share them.

Too add images from another account, use "From a URL" or drag and drop.

You're inserting a copy

When you use "from your phone," Blogger makes its own copy of the image you insert and places it in the album archive.

That, not the original Photos file, is the file that Blogger uses. Delete it and you will leave an ugly hole in your blog.

Like many of the other options, "from your phone" displays its images in reverse chronological order in a single scrollable box.

There are no search or sort options, though the photos are grouped and labeled by date.
