Add images "from your webcam"

toolbar > insert image > Add Images > From your webcam

Update: This option has been discontinued. My guess is no one will miss it.

Not everyone has a webcam, but if you do you can insert a photo from it into your blog (and your blogs's album in the Archive).

The top of the "From your webcam" option
It's one of six options in "Add images," the pop-up you get when you click the Insert Image icon on the toobar in Blogger's editing window.

Blogger uses Adobe's Flash technology to make this option work.

Depending on the status of your Flash installation and permissions you may see one of several different messages instructing you to authorize or install.

Dialog box requesting access to webcam
"From your webcam" might show this dialog box from Adobe Flash.
The use of Flash, an older technology that Google has actively discouraged, suggests that this option is a pentimento of another era.

I do not use it, and it's hard to see what the use case for it is. But maybe it's useful to you.

You'll see a different message if you do not have a webcam or if your webcam is not available.
