Adding images to Blogger

Blogger editor > toolbar > Insert Image > options

Maybe a picture is worth a thousand words. A photo or graphic can attract the eye, set the tone, explain, demonstrate, or illustrate.

Every blogger should know all the ways to add an image to a blog post or page.

Four choices when you click the Insert Image tool

Here's a guide.

Click the Insert Image tool to get Add Images, with access to the following four image-inserting options:

At this time, I do not recommend dragging and droping images directly into your blog.

Most of these methods place the image file that Blogger uses in your Media Manager (not Google Photos). That is Blogger's own image library.

If you insert from "Photos," i.e. Google Photos, Blogger will place a copy of the image you select in the album for your blog. The copy is identical to, but separate from, the one in Photos.

Media manager, not Photos

Blogger uses the Media Manager version of the file and no other.
If you delete an image from your album archive, it will leave an ugly hole in your blog.

Warning: As of this writing, there is no "restore deleted photos" option for the Media Manager like the one in Google Photos.

    1. Direct import is a very good option. Blogger does not require a 300k limit per photos, but I think you are worried about page load.

Normally that would not matter, as Blogger will resize images for you, but I honestly do not know if it could make a difference for pages with very many images. There are ways to manage that, such as the WebP and Lazy Load settings in Blogger.

For the dynamic pages, though, it is important to use the jump break to manage pagination.
